Amsterdam Marina

Situated at the widest point of the river IJ at the junction of waterways: North Sea, Marken, Amsterdam-Rhine Canal, North Holland Canal and the Standing Mast Route, the new Amsterdam Marina is an excellent base for trips to the North Sea, the IJsselmeer and to the city. Located at the NDSM wharf with its own rich nautical history, the new 350-berth marina has become home to the annual HISWA “Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show” event for Dutch and international yachting.

Located centrally within the marina on a wooden pier, the new 2,600m2 Marina Building works as an extension of the existing wharf. A wooden perimeter loggia construction creates an open feel while providing a sheltered outdoor space and transition area between the building and harbour. Both through the building’s large glass windows as from the boardwalk and terrace you can enjoy expansive panoramic views across the IJ to Amsterdam’s historic heart. The new Marina Building houses the HISWA head office, as well as marina facilities including restaurant Loetje aan ‘t IJ with a magnificent outdoor terrace where also boats can moor. The wooden terrace and boardwalk take their cue from the existing piers and in combination with white mineral stucco walls, the building emanates transparency and a natural, warm atmosphere.
